A 41 to 47 cm suede gauntlet up the forearm, where the scratches actually happen.
Grip you can work with
A top-grain cowhide palm, supple enough to hold secateurs and pull a weed.

What Every Gardener Should Know
Are ThornMates thorn-proof?
No glove stops every thorn. ThornMates are made to resist thorns, brambles, nettles and rose stems with a top-grain cowhide palm and a suede gauntlet, and to handle the vast majority of gardening jobs safely and comfortably.
What's the difference between ThornMates and SoilMates?
ThornMates are long gauntlets for thorny jobs where your forearms need covering: roses, brambles, holly and nettles. SoilMates are wrist-length gloves for everyday gardening when you want more feel.
How do I choose my size?
Wrap a tape measure around your knuckles at the base of your fingers, with your palm flat and thumb tucked in. S fits 22 cm hands (41 cm glove), M fits 23 cm (43 cm glove), L fits 24 cm (45 cm glove) and XL fits 25 cm (47 cm glove). Between sizes? Choose the larger one.
Will the gauntlet slide down my arm?
The hook fastening on the cuff lets you set the fit once, so the gauntlet stays where you put it.
Do they feel stiff at first?
They're snug for the first two or three sessions, then the leather moulds to your hands. It doesn't stretch out.
Does the suede shed?
A little light shedding is normal when they're new. A quick brush settles it.
How do I care for them?
Brush off soil, air dry away from direct heat and condition the leather once a year.
Are they suitable as a gift?
Yes. They arrive boxed and paper-wrapped with a bookmark, ready to give.
